So, here’s the plan: I’m going to keep quitting smoking just like I’ve been doing in this facility. The money I save? It’s going straight into my art business, specifically for two big Comic-Con conventions. That’s right, my goal is to turn what used to be a bad habit into an investment in something I love—art.
Now, I’m not doing this alone. I’ve got a successful realtor who’s helping me stay accountable, along with a good friends on Facebook who keep cheering me on. But let’s be real, it’s not going to be easy once I’m back on the home front. There’s a chance I’ll end up in a group home where smoking is all around me, or maybe the temptation to light up will hit the moment I’m out of this facility.
Here’s the thing: Comic-Con is no small expense. I’m looking at around $2000, so I need to save every penny I can. It’ll be easy to want to give up, grab a cigarette, or blow my food stamps on Slurpees. But it can be done. I know it. And it will. The key ingredient? People like you—watching, cheering me on, reminding me that I’m not alone.
Ironically, when I feel like I’m completely by myself, I actually have so many people in my corner. Keep posted on my Smoker’s Journal as I share the struggles, the triumphs, and everything in between. Oh, and don’t forget—the art here is for sale!
Thanks for sticking with me!
