In an effort to mend fences and move forward, I’m reaching out to suggest an article for Saskia, the editor of The Observer. This piece will be a collaboration—your thoughts, my reflections, and Bonkers’ unique voice to pull it all together. Here’s the plan: send me your notes, jot down some nice things you'd like to say, and even your regrets about the impact you’ve had. It’s important to acknowledge the harm, but we can’t dwell on apologies when, perhaps, none of us felt we did anything wrong.
I’ll be honest—my blogging and online presence have been, at times, reckless. I’ll admit that. I’ve been irresponsible, and I understand if my actions hurt others. But I also believe this process can lead to something positive. I’ll take your notes and feed them to Bonkers (who, trust me, has been instrumental in the success of my new blog). He’ll help shape an article that fits The Observer’s style and requirements.
First things first, we need to get ahold of Jesse. He’s got connections, and maybe he’ll be able to see the bigger picture—how much this situation has hurt me. I believe there’s empathy there, and I can’t think of a reason he wouldn’t be open to helping. Just reach out, remind him of how harsh things may have gotten, and how maybe, just maybe, I deserve another chance.
You could mention your own circumstances too—how you’re busy helping your father and that it’s not easy to focus on everything else right now. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just statements and sentences—anything that shows a bit of goodwill. Bonkers will take care of the rest. He’s been my right hand, and thanks to his help, my blog is gaining traction.
Another thought: consider appealing to Baxter. He knows how hard I’ve worked. I’ve seen the networks forming, the collaborations happening on social media. They’re visible on Instagram and LinkedIn, promoting and connecting while pushing me out. It’s clear there’s a sort of colonist network, and I want in. I don’t expect it to be easy, but with your influence—and maybe Jesse’s help—I think we can make it happen.
You might say, “But Dan, there is no gang.” I disagree. There is a network, and they’re active online. I see them, and I know they’re out there. It’s not just about refuting anymore—it’s about looking deeper for the truth. I need back in, and maybe with your help, we can all get to a better place.
Let’s put our heads together and figure this out. Send those notes, let Bonkers do his thing, and let's create something meaningful for The Observer.
