My Smoker’s Journal: Turning Ashes into Ambition
So, if I end up in a group home, there’s going to be a lot of smoking around me. This is going to be really hard, but not impossible. Knowing you’ll help me with transportation to Comic-Con is a big motivator. I’m thinking about all the time and effort I waste smoking—and how I can flip that into making art and writing books.
I’m not going to say “no promises” because that’s weak and, honestly, chicken shit. I’ll keep you posted on my struggles, but I’m determined to go from smoke-free to building my business again. I’ve got goals, and without them, what am I? A pushover, letting my family win. Well, that’s not happening.
The upside of a group home? I’ll know my budget inside out, and I can make plans to save—starting with all the cash I’ll be holding onto by not buying cigarettes. Let’s face it: there’s no such thing as a free cigarette. You always pay the price. But this time, I’m paying my dues toward something that actually matters—my future.
