Here we are, Day 5 — and wouldn’t you know it, Mr. Cravings is still hanging around like that annoying house guest who never takes a hint. You know the one — he shows up uninvited, eats all your snacks, and then pretend he's doing you a favor by keeping you company. That’s my cravings right now. Persistent, chatty, and absolutely overstaying his welcome.
The good news? I’ve gotten better at shucking him off. When he knocks or rings, I just ignore the doorbell. But even when I don’t answer, I can still hear him pacing around on the porch. He's there — I just don’t let him in anymore.
One thing that helps, surprisingly, is sunshine. Sitting outside and soaking it in feels like medicine. Maybe it’s the Vitamin D. Maybe it’s the reminder that life is bigger than my addiction. Or maybe it’s just that warmth on my face — a simple, natural comfort that doesn’t come in a pack or cost $100 a carton.
So I sit, breathe, and let the sun do what it does best — remind me that healing doesn’t always come from the pharmacy. Sometimes it comes from the sky. ☀️
Here’s to Day 5 — and keeping the door locked on Mr. Cravings for good.
