I’ve officially got my account set up with the Disney Imagineering job board. That’s one small click for mankind, one giant leap for a dreamer like me. Next step? Updating and uploading my resume—which is basically an artistic autobiography at this point. I’m spending the rest of the day doing something equally important… trying on clothes. Yep, because Mickey’s not going to hire a guy who shows up in 10-year-old jeans and a concert tee (even if it's vintage).
Thankfully, I’ve got someone in my corner—Jacki. Her support and the clothes she donated are helping me feel like I actually belong in a place like Imagineering. And honestly, this whole journey is teaching me something we often forget: we weren’t made to go it alone. We’re social creatures. Even Mickey had his friends. I mean, who wants to work without a Donald or a Goofy to back you up?
Getting this job is going to take all I’ve got. But I’m positive I can do it. My spirit’s all in. If I pass my cancer test this Thursday, then I’m going full bore on this job search. No looking back. All Disney, all dreams, all day.
Now, for today’s style report. I went through the clothing haul, and here’s the scoop: my pant size is 34x32, not 34x30 (close call). Might need to tailor a pair or two—or just wear them low (don’t worry, not sagging—I’m not auditioning for a 90s boy band). I’m keeping almost everything: great shirts that actually fit, professional name-brand pants like Dockers, and one questionable pair of white corduroy slacks that are headed back. I mean, this isn’t the 1970s and I’m not auditioning for Saturday Night Fever. Other than that, I now officially own a professional and fashionable wardrobe. One more step toward the magic.
Today’s Progress:
-
✅ Went through my wardrobe
-
✅ Developed my support circle
-
✅ Awaiting replies from teachers and art pros for references and advice
Let’s go to the dream job with imagination—and a well-fitting pair of pants.
