This month, on the first Friday, I was given the opportunity to participate in the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk. It was great to be back out there, displaying my artwork and books and reconnecting with people from the Fullerton art community.
I saw some old friends, and while some encounters were filled with kindness, others were a little more difficult. I left the old Fullerton Art Walk on bad terms, so returning brought up some mixed feelings. But it was also good to discover that some people, including Jesse LaTour, have forgiven me and were willing to welcome me back. I really appreciate that.
The show itself went great! I sold more than $100 worth of books, and because there was no participation fee, almost everything I made was profit after covering the cost of printing. That's a pretty good night for an artist!
I'm hoping to participate again next month and continue getting my work out into the community. For me, art isn't just about making things in the studio. It's about getting out there, meeting people, showing the work, and being part of the creative community.
Looking Ahead to LA ComicCon
And then there's Halloween weekend!
This year, LA ComicCon will most likely be part of my plans. The three-day event is scheduled for October 30 through November 1, 2026, and I'm already thinking about what costume I should wear.
Of course, figuring out the costume is only half the fun. Now I have to start thinking about where I'm going to buy it! 🎃
